Hamburg, October 2023 - The possibilities of digital signage are becoming more tangible in many parts of society. This also applies to retirement homes, which are using digital progress to relieve staff and provide residents with comprehensive and timely information via digital notice boards. Hamburg-based integrator ACCENTA recently successfully equipped the first retirement homes of stb-care Pflegeeinrichtungen Steinbuck with digital noticeboards. More will follow in the course of the year.
"Retirement homes are a difficult environment. Certain mandatory notices must be clearly visible and always up to date for residents," says ACCENTA Managing Director Jessica Kalla. "At the same time, the constant maintenance of conventional notice boards in a care home ties up scarce staff resources that could be put to good use elsewhere in care," says Kalla, describing the challenges.
ACCENTA has put together a special product and service package for retirement homes: "We use our ultra-slim displays with up to 98 inches, which run with our own user-friendly TVLUTION software. Topics such as shift schedules, meal plans, home advisory councils, leisure activities and also contact persons and mandatory publications are preconfigured so that staff can take over editorial responsibility immediately after familiarisation," explains Kalla.
ACCENTA also provided menu boards for the cafeteria/canteens as well as customer stoppers and SLIMLINE POSTERS for information and signposting. The sound system and music were also provided by ACCENTA.
"Our staff can now concentrate more easily on their main task of providing care," says Tobias Leszinski, Head of the IT department at the Steinbuck care facilities, commenting on the digital switchover. "The residents enjoy colourful and moving images and relatives can quickly see relevant information for their family members," continues Leszinski. Not forgetting the reduced paper consumption and the minimisation of errors thanks to centralised editorial control. "As we have several homes, it is also important for us that the terminals can be used not only in one facility, but at all locations," Leszinski continues.
The IT manager gives the cooperation with the Hamburg-based digital signage provider a good rating: "ACCENTA delivered a very clean job, our suggestions were fully taken on board. Deadlines were met and change requests were dealt with promptly," concludes Leszinski.
ACCENTA was founded in 2009 and is active on the German and international market with three business areas (music, signage, monitoring). A first branch was opened in Spain in mid-2023.
The company's own user-friendly TVLUTION software and the in-house developed monitoring software KIOSK IQ with Box are the company's distinguishing features. KIOSK IQ guarantees perfect maintenance and experience management as well as 50% cost savings on maintenance, optimised energy efficiency and longer equipment life.
